Welcome to the Darkfall Tournament League

The Darkfall Tournament or DFT for short is an ongoing event held on the EU-1 server in the MMORPG Darkfall Online. DFT is dedicated to provide enjoyable and competitive Player versus Player tournaments. Anyone is free to sign up for the tournaments and the tournaments arranged can vary from simple 1vs1's, 2v2's or whatever the community is most interested in attending. This is the latest addition to DFT. The League. This is a seasonal and ladder based league event where players challenge other players and try to attain the highest score on the ladder. DFT was created by Ninogan Swiftstep & Lillis Slowfoot. Image header by TinyTyke

The League

This is the Darkfall Tournament League, a seasonal and ladder based league for all the fighters in Agon to compete in. For our first test season there will be a 1vs1 league where players will be able to challenge each other to fights and try to raise their ladder score. At the end of each season the top 8 ranked people will compete in a tournament and the winner will be that seasons champion and will reap the rewards.

The trial season (before season 1) will be starting on Sunday the 10th of July and will be running for three weeks and end on the 31st of July.

rules

General Rules & Information

Entry fee: 15k (the house takes 1k from each entry fee if participant numbers reach 25+)

A player can not have multiple characters signed up in the 1vs1 league

A player can sign-up to participate in the leagues at anytime during the season

At the end of the season a tournament for the 8 best scored players will be held with it's own rules explained at the time

The winner of the tournament recieves 80% of the entrance fees and the runner-up recieves 20% (there is no third place)

Combat Rules & Information

Fights are best of three rounds with no looting

Infernal Armor limit. No weapon or enchanting quality limit.

Pre-buffing allowed. No pre-reflect, but reflect is allowed during the fight

Ressurection & "Ganking" is allowed. Ressurect a player that you want to gank and it will count as a gank. This is to avoid time issues

No pre-surging allowed

One mount of any kind per match (not per round)

Players choice: The rules above are just the standard rules. If both players want to they can make their own rules together. This means that you can do a fight where you are allowed to use Dragon Armor or where you do full loot or a wager of gold added to it. You can even decide to do melee/archery only, best out of 5, no buffing etc. Both players need to consent to the new rules and the referee for the fight needs to approve of the new rules (there will be no approving of a fun hulk race for example).

Ladder rules & Information

Scores range from 1-1000. Participants start at 500. The relative scores will decide how many points the winner earns and the loser loses. The specific math won't be explained here, but for instance: two participants of the same score will battle over 50 points, whereas a 700 points will only earn 29 points against a 500 points player if he wins and lose 86 if he loses.

A referee from the approved referee list needs to be present at the fight. Referee's are not obligated to attend to fights requested. A participant has to have fought at least 5 different enemies to be electable for the final tournament. To avoid exploiting, points earned from fights against people who haven't fought against 5 different enemies will also be discounted at the end of the season (but points lost will not be recovered). Each participant can only issue 1 challenge per day. Each participant can only fight 1 fight per day (this is to avoid referees having over-work). (Note that if he already fought that day and he gets challenged, he doesn't have to "refuse", because he can't fight that day anymore, but the challenge will count as issued the next day if the challenger wants to).

If the challenger has more than 300 points than the challenged, the challenge is considered "unfair". This means that the challenged can refuse it at no cost, but he can accept it if he wishes to. "Fair" challenges (with below 300 points difference, or the challenger having less points than the challenged) can also be refused, under some terms. A participant can refuse up to 2 "fair" challenges in a row, but the 3rd one issued will then have to be accepted. Each time he accepts a "fair" challenge, the count is resetted. How to officially issue challenges is adressed below.

While it is possible to just challenge someone and grab a referee there's an official process in place to control dodges and so on when people get refused or cannot locate opponents. "Unfair" challenges won't be officialized unless they're carried out into a fight, in which case the referee will inform of the result. If when issuing a "fair" challenge, the player gets refused or he can't get in contact with the challenged, he must send a challenge via the DFT website at the moment of the challenge; and the challenged will be acknowledged and have 48 hours to answer. After these 48 hours, it will count as a dodge. If it's a 3rd dodge, it will count as a loss. If a player gets refused 4 times in a row the 5th time he can't be refused. This is to avoid good players with temporary low score to have no chance of getting a fight. If a player goes away from the game for a period of time, he must tell the league so that he can be noted as "inactive" and un-challengeable, but also unable to do challenges. You can obviously not go from active-inactive continuously to avoid challenges.
